Bringing Baby Home Workshop in New Brunswick
A research-based workshop for couples preparing for parenthood or adjusting to life with a baby, designed to strengthen connection, improve communication, and support your relationship through one of life’s biggest transitions.
Whether you’re expecting a baby or parenting a child ages 0–3, this workshop helps you navigate the emotional and relational realities of growing your family with more confidence, compassion, and teamwork.
Bringing home a baby changes your relationship, too.
A new baby can bring love, joy, meaning, and excitement, but also exhaustion, stress, overwhelm, changing roles, and less time for connection.
You may find yourselves:
Feeling more reactive or disconnected than usual
Struggling with communication or conflict
Feeling overwhelmed by changing responsibilities and expectations
Missing the closeness you once had
Trying to navigate parenting while also caring for your relationship
Wondering why this transition feels harder than expected
If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone. Research shows that many couples experience increased conflict and decreased relationship satisfaction during the transition to parenthood, not because something is wrong, but because this season asks a lot of both people.
What is Bringing Baby Home?
The Bringing Baby Home® (BBH) workshop is a research-based, psychoeducational program developed by relationship experts Drs. John and Julie Gottman to support couples through the transition to parenthood. Its goal is simple but powerful: to strengthen families by strengthening the relationship between parents.
This workshop is ideal for couples who are:
Expecting a baby
Parenting an infant or toddler (ages 0–3)
Rather than waiting until things feel difficult, this workshop offers proactive support, helping couples better understand what to expect and how to move through change together.
Practical tools for navigating parenthood as a team
Through education, reflection, and guided exercises, you and your partner will learn how to:
Strengthen friendship and emotional connection
Improve communication and work through conflict more effectively
Maintain intimacy and relationship satisfaction during stressful seasons
Navigate changing roles and expectations with more clarity
Build stronger co-parenting strategies
Better understand your baby’s emotional and developmental needs
Recognize signs of postpartum mood challenges and understand available support
Stay connected while adapting to the realities of life with a new baby
This isn’t about being perfect parents. It’s about learning how to support one another while building a strong foundation for your growing family.
One of the best gifts you can give your baby is a supported, connected relationship
When couples feel more connected, supported, and able to navigate stress together, the benefits extend beyond the relationship itself, supporting the well-being of the entire family. Research behind the Bringing Baby Home® program shows positive outcomes for relationship satisfaction, co-parenting, and emotional well-being during the transition to parenthood.
Even small shifts in communication, understanding, and teamwork can make a meaningful difference during this tender season.
